Instagram bug makes it so you can see other people’s notifications

Last week, Instagram announced a new feature that allows users to log into multiple accounts at the same time. As part of this, users were able to receive notifications from all accounts they were logged in to.

There seems to be a problem though. According to the team at Android Central, it’s possible to receive other people’s notifications, even if that account isn’t logged into your device.

How does it happen? Android Central claims the bug occurs when two (or more) individuals log into a single Instagram account while also being logged into their own, personal account. When this happens, those who are logged into the shared accounts will also receive notifications of the other person’s personal account.

Interestingly enough, the bug seems to stop at the notification system. Clicking on the notification only takes you to your own account or the post itself.

According to Android Central, the bug appears to be random, as it stopped ‘working’ a few days after they were able to replicate it.

Instagram has already said it’s working on a fix, but as things currently stand, notifications are still having a little cross-talk issue.
