GoPro brings Karma drone back on sale

After random crashes, recalling the drone and making up to the buyers with free GoPro Hero 5 Black – Karma drone is back! GoPro announced the return of Karma later this year, and this “later” has come pretty soon. The drone is already available for preorders, as if nothing ever happened.

Let me remind you, Karma drones were recalled because of the random power loss in the middle of flight. It was caused by the problem with securing the battery, which is obviously now resolved. At least I hope so.

After fixing the battery issue, GoPro decided to bring Karma back to the market. You would think that, after all the fuss, they would introduce some upgrades and novelties. However, the only “upgrade” is the change in the battery clasp mechanism.

Surprisingly, even the price didn’t change. Karma is available for $799.99, and if you’d like a GoPro 5 black with it, you can get it for $1099.00. For those who want the aircraft only, it’s available for $599.99. You can preorder it now, and it will become available at the end of March 2017. You can order Karma on GoPro website, and they announced it will be on sale at select US retailers. Which ones – it’s still unknown.

Today is a Groundhog Day, and this all seems a bit like a déjà vu. Karma is announced as “new product”, with the same price and the same features as when it was first launched. However, will it be able to beat the competition without making any serious upgrades? I would love to see GoPro make a great comeback, but honestly speaking, I have my doubts about this. What do you think?
