Looks like Fujifilm is on the roll with gear announcements. Along with the X-T200 and the XC 35mm f/2, the company is also announcing the Fujifilm GF 45-100mm f/4 R LM WR: a new medium format lens for Fujifilm’s GFX system.
The Fujifilm GF 45-100mm f/4 R LM WR is a standard zoom lens, providing 36-79mm equivalent focal length. This focal length range is pretty versatile, so you can use this lens for a wide variety of situations, from landscapes to portraits.
The lens is built from 16 elements in 12 groups, featuring one Super ED element and one ED element to reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing throughout the zoom range. There are also three aspherical elements to control field curvature, distortion, and spherical aberrations. The lens has a rounded nine-blade diaphragm, for soft and smooth bokeh.
When it comes to autofocus, Fujifilm GF 45-100mm f/4 R LM WR packs a linear AF motor. It promises quick and quiet focusing performance, so it should be great for both photo and video shooting. The lens also has an optical image stabilization built-in.
Finally, the lens is dust- and weather-sealed and made from magnesium alloy. In other words, it’s durable and it takes harsh weather conditions and temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C).
