If you’ve ever spent hours managing a large photo library, you know how tedious it can be. Excire’s new releases, Excire Search 2026 for Lightroom Classic and Excire Foto 2025, might be just what you need to make managing your files a breeze. The software offers AI-powered culling, face sharpness checks, and video management, all while keeping everything local for enhanced privacy and control.

The focus here is on making everyday tasks simpler. Excire’s new tools offer configurable culling, intuitive panels, and automated keywording, letting photographers get organised quickly without changing how they work. And even better, there’s a 30% discount for both programs available until December 7th 2025.

Excire Search 2026: A More Integrated Lightroom Experience

Excire Search 2026 builds on its predecessors with several new workflow-oriented features. Its most noticeable addition is the new Excire Search panel, which integrates directly into Lightroom Classic. Users can access AI-powered tools without leaving their library module, either in a compact quick-access toolbar or a full-sized panel with image previews.

The plugin’s AI culling tools have also been expanded. Photos can now be grouped and sorted by content, scene, people, and sharpness, including eye and face sharpness. You can set up rules for automatically flagging or rejecting images, which could save hours when working with large shoots. A small but useful addition is that face sharpness is flagged directly in the panel, so you can see at a glance which portraits are in focus.

Video tools

Another notable upgrade is the video support. Excire Search 2026 analyses a representative frame from each clip, applies keywords, and lets you search and organise video alongside your photos. This is a step up for photographers who dabble in video or hybrid shooters who need a unified management system.

The plugin still retains the core AI search tools from previous versions: natural-language (prompt) search, similarity search, face & people search, duplicate search, automatic keywording, and aesthetic ratings. All the analysis is performed locally, so your photos don’t ever have to leave your machine.

Additional tweaks in 2026 include support for HEIC and PSD files, better handling of panoramic images, and the addition of a second database for faster access to large catalogues.

Excire Foto 2025: Stand-alone AI Management

Excire Foto 2025, the standalone sibling of Search, also got a significant overhaul. Its culling module now lets you automatically select the best photos based on sharpness, aesthetics, and even eye sharpness. You can group images by visual similarity or burst sequences, making it easier to trim down large sets of images.

Face and people management have been improved, too. You can tag individuals more efficiently, see sharpness markers at a glance, and use facial characteristics like age or whether eyes are open to refine your searches. Video support mirrors what Search offers, letting you catalogue videos alongside stills with automated keywording.

The software retains all the AI search capabilities that made Excire popular, such as prompt search, similarity search, people & face search, GPS search, and duplicate search. It also adds an aesthetics scoring system trained on hundreds of thousands of images to help surface standout shots.

Other workflow-friendly features include automatic 1:1 previews, duplicate detection, colour labels, stars, flags, keyword hierarchies, metadata filters, and a comparison view. Like Excire Search, all processing happens locally, which keeps your data private.

Availability and Pricing

Both Excire Search 2026 and Excire Foto 2025 are compatible with Windows and macOS. Excire Search 2026 is priced at $199, with a limited-time discount of $179, and upgrades from older versions range from $69 to $99. Excire Foto 2025 is listed at $199, with a launch discount of $169, and upgrades from Foto 2024 are at $69. Both offer 14-day trials. The Cyber-week discounts are available until December 7th 2025.
