Chasing for a perfect holiday snapshots is dangerous – let this video show you why

Have you noticed all those people around you who are constantly trying to capture a perfect selfie or holiday snapshot? This compilation from Ozzy Man Reviews will show you why acting like this can be dangerous. But also, it shows how people who constantly take snapshots with their phones can make our lives more interesting.

Ethan Marrell of Ozzy Man Reviews calls this video a “commentary on a few sensational travel fails.” It features various people who are so submerged in taking photos with their phones that they completely forget about their surroundings. As a consequence, there are plenty of falls, tumbles and funny interactions with animals who don’t really want to get their photo taken.

In the examples from the video, I even recognize situations people I know have experienced. My ex-boyfriend was trying to take a photo while riding a bicycle, and he ended up like this guy:

The message of the video is “focus more on the experience, less on your phone.” And I couldn’t agree more! First of all, a constant chase of a perfect selfie or holiday snapshot takes away from the experience. Of course, you should take some photos, but sometimes you should definitely put the phone or the camera away and just enjoy the world around you. And second, searching for a perfect photo can sometimes be dangerous or even fatal. The aforementioned ex who took photos on the bicycle ended up with a broken shoulder and had two surgeries.

On the other hand, not all selfie-takers and phone addicts get hurt so badly (fortunately). They get a little embarrassed by funny tumbles and falls, and end up in videos like this. I believe some of these guys felt sore the day after, but I hope no one got seriously injured. But they, indeed, are a good reminder to put the phone away and become aware of the surroundings.
