Asus just released the newest addition to its ultrabook line: the Zenbook Pro 15. With a factory-calibrated 4K 100% Adobe RGB display, this could be a vagabonding video editor’s new workhorse. They packed so many features on this computer that Asus is even claiming “it is not just better: it’s the best.”
The Zenbook may look elegant with its solid aluminum body, but this beast can handle your toughest video projects. In fact, it’s one of the few laptops that uses the 8th generation hexa-core i9-8950HK processor, making it more powerful than your average desktop. It also features a 4GB NVIDIA GTX 1050 GPU, which is excellent since many applications still favor Nvidia over AMD or Intel for GPU acceleration. Apart from that, the Pro 15 also has 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM for maximum performance.
Furthermore, the Zenbook Pro 15 boasts a 4K NanoEdge display with 100% Adobe RGB and 95% NTSC color gamut. That means you can be confident you get natural-looking colors for editing videos and more. Asus also partnered with audio specialists Harman Kardon to optimize the Zenbook Pro 15’s audio quality. It’s now 1.4 times louder than its predecessors with 1.6x-wider frequency response.
With a weight of 1.8Kg and thickness of 18.5mm., you can easily store it in a backpack. It also has 9.5 hours of battery life to let you work all day. And what’s even cooler is you can recharge it up to 60% in just 49 minutes. Just enough time to plug in during a layover.
Asus hasn’t announced the prices for the Zenbook Pro 15 UX550GD, yet. However, I expect the price will be a little steep, considering that it’s loaded with so many pro-level features.
