AstrHori 28mm f/13 Upgraded Periprobe lens

Released last year, the AstrHori 28mm f/13 Periprobe Macro ($739-939) was built to take on the popular Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe Lens. Given the massive price different, it seems to be proving quite popular itself.

Now, AstrHori has announced a refresh and updated the design to add a 360° rotating base ($939-1,398). With the new periprobe lens, you can turn it to shoot at any angle you wish while keeping your camera positioned comfortably the right way up.

AstrHori 28mm f/13 – 360° Rotating Base

The only real difference between the new updated version of the lens and the one that was announced last November is the fact that the base can rotate. It offers a full 360 degrees of rotation. With the peripobe lens pointing off to the side, this means you can rotate it to shoot off at any angle you desire.

This will be very handy for those who often find themselves tilting their cameras to get just the right angle on what you need – making some shots potentially impossible from a tripod. Now, you only need to rotate the lens.

It offers 2x magnification and 0.8 MOD gears for use with follow focus units or remotely controlled focus motors. The first 20cm of the lens is also waterproof, allowing you to dunk it underwater for some unique shots.
