Apple has introduced a new series of its Smart Battery Cases for iPhone 11. And just like the phone is all about photography – so are the cases. There are three versions of the new battery case, and each of them has a dedicated camera button for easier access to your phone’s camera.
As Engadget notes, this isn’t the first iPhone battery case with a dedicated shutter button. There’s this one from Moment, for example. However, this is the first time that we have an official Apple battery case that lets you access the camera directly through it. The integrated shutter button launches the camera app, takes photos if you press it shortly, or shoots a video if you hold it. It works for both front and rear camera.
Other than providing you with quick access to the camera app, the Smart Battery Case extends your battery by up to 50%. After all, this is its main purpose. It’s compatible with Qi-certified chargers, but it can be charged even faster with USB-PD-compatible chargers. You can charge your iPhone and battery case simultaneously.
You can get the Smart Battery Case for your iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro, each cost $129. The iPhone 11 case comes in black and white, and you can choose between black, white and pink for the 11 Pro and Pro Max.
