Psst, wanna get an invitation to an upcoming new camera from Alfie Cameras? Well, the notice about the upcoming BOXX camera VIP club from Alfie Cameras reads kinda like an invitation to a secret society. Forget mysterious robes and candles, however, the members of this club gather around film cameras, chemistry, and a healthy obsession with photography.

You’ll recall that Alfie Cameras manufactures the tiny TYCH camera which recently underwent an “enlightening” enhancement with the addition of a new flash adapter. This upcoming camera release is a distinct departure from the diminutive TYCH.

Meet the upcoming BOXX camera, a compact camera designed to let users experience the entire photographic process, from taking a picture to developing the print directly inside the camera. In other words, it’s the camera equivalent of cooking your own gourmet meal instead of ordering takeout.

Get VIP Status

Alfie Cameras enthusiastically explains that the BOXX camera allows photographers to slow down and truly enjoy photography. Rather than instantly snapping photos and posting them online, users can carefully compose images, experiment with lenses, and even create prints using photographic paper and chemistry. It’s basically the opposite of modern smartphone photography, where the most effort required is deciding which filter makes your lunch look the most artistic.

In direct support of this effort, Alfie Cameras invites visitors to join a “VIP Superfan Club” for the incredibly exclusive price of just £1 (or, $2 USD). Members get perks like early notifications about the upcoming Kickstarter launch, behind-the-scenes videos explaining how the camera was built, and a limited-edition gold pinhole lens. Because nothing screams “VIP” quite like owning anything that’s gold. Like a gold toilet, for example.

Overall, the page feels like a friendly rallying cry for analog photography enthusiasts everywhere. It promises creativity, experimentation, and a return to the slower, hands-on process of making photographs. And if that doesn’t convince you, remember: for £1 you can garner VIP status! And that’s something most of us will never achieve at airport check-ins or concerts venues.

Enjoy.
