Insta360 has introduced the Flow 2, the latest addition to its smartphone gimbal lineup. It’s a more affordable, creator-focused rework of the Flow 2 Pro, aimed at casual users and mobile content creators who want solid stabilization and intelligent tracking without committing to a bulky setup or premium price tag.

Portable Build, Familiar Form
Flow 2 folds down to a size small enough to fit in a bag or jacket pocket, but when opened, it packs a few essentials for solo shooting: a built-in selfie stick, a tripod, and a 10-hour battery that can also charge your phone on the go. It’s about convenience over complexity, staying true to the all-in-one design that worked well in the original model.
While NFC One-Tap Shooting is only available for select phones, it does remove the usual Bluetooth pairing process for those who can use it. For Android users, there’s a Quick Launch option that automatically opens the native camera app when the gimbal powers on. These touches aren’t groundbreaking, but they do help streamline the shooting process.

Deep Track 4.0 and AI Framing
The Flow 2 uses Insta360’s updated Deep Track 4.0, which improves subject recognition and multi-person tracking. It can now hold onto subjects even if they’re briefly obscured by obstacles, and it’s better at following multiple people in frame. This could come in handy for vloggers or anyone recording group scenes. The AI-based Pro Framing Grid adds some structure to compositions by offering suggested framing angles, though how useful that really is will likely vary depending on your shooting habits.
You can also control Flow 2 remotely using a second smartphone or an Apple Watch, which could be helpful in family or group settings where no one wants to stay behind the camera.

Audio, Teleprompters, and Third-Party Apps
For those doing more than quick clips, Flow 2 supports the new Insta360 Mic Air wireless mic and includes a basic teleprompter function via the app. These are small but thoughtful additions that could help with content like tutorials or product reviews. The gimbal also works with third-party apps through the AI Tracker feature, giving Android users access to subject tracking even in platforms that don’t support it natively.
There’s a built-in spotlight for low-light conditions, and once you’re done shooting, the AI Editing Suite offers auto-trimming and polishing—though, as always, mileage will vary depending on your standards.

Flow 2 vs. Flow 2 Pro
The Flow 2 Pro model features several hardware features missing from this version. They include a selfie mirror, ring light, transparent motor design, and support for Apple DockKit and 360 Infinite Pan Tracking.
