If you need a dose of extreme cuteness today, then check out the winning images from the Dog Photography Awards 2024. The contest showcases the best images each year of man’s best friend and is split into five categories, with 2024 adding a new Documentary section.
This year’s winners include action shots, tender moments, and some striking portraits that encapsulate the love we have for our dogs. If nothing else, they will get your tail wagging! Here are the winning images:
Action
First place: Regine Jensen
“Moving in Time”

Second Place: Anastasia Vetkovskaya
“Burst of energy”

Third Place: Anne-Laurie Léger
“Floating”

Documentary
First Place: John Fabiano
“Greenlandic Flat Tire”

Second Place: An Di Prima
“Safe”

Podencos are a horribly abused hunting dog breed in Spain. Every year, after the hunting season ends, thousands get dumped, and a few lucky ones are saved by rescue organisations such as Hope For Podencos. With my photography, I try to help as much as I can: Together, we are stronger!
Third Place: Angela Sulser
“Follow your origin”
Dogs & People
First place: Jane Thomson
“The Princess & the Pea”

Second Place: Ida Levin
“Growing older together day by day, my dog is my reason to stay”

Third Place: Moa Näslund
“Silent Connection”
Portrait
First Place: Rhea Nellen
“Ready for Takeoff”

At first we let Kooki just stand in front of the museum but he wanted to play. So his dogmum threw his frisbee into the air and I managed to caputre this pose.
Second Place: Lea Styger
“Hunted Architecture”

Third Place: Sophia Hutchinson
“Hot off the Press”

Studio
First Place: Valeria Barbara Barriera Cassina
“Metamorfosis canina”

Second Place: Donna Victor
“Mila”
Third Place: Regine Jensen
“I see you”
All of the winning photographs and Honorable Mentions can be viewed on the Dog Photography Awards website.

Why did you put soooo much writing over the pics. I wanted to see the dogs
That’s exactly what I want to know! I’m sure the photos are amazing, but who would know with writing all over them!
lovely but I couldn’t see some of the photos because of the overlaying text
