Instagram finally lets you send direct messages from a browser

There have been hints that Instagram would let us send messages from your desktop. It was enabled in the desktop app for Windows 10 earlier this year. And finally, now you can send Instagram DMs through a web browser.
There isn’t an official announcement on Instagram’s blog about DMs in a browser. When I heard about it, I just opened my account in Google Chrome and the icon was there. And it works just like it does in the smartphone app.

Personally, I find this to be great news. First of all, I type faster and I’m far more accurate on the computer keyboard, so I prefer sending messages from there. Also, I spend lots of time in front of the computer, so I like doing everything I can from there without switching to my phone. I’ve used a third-party to send Instagram messages from my laptop for a white, but I love it that now I can do it from a browser. This way I can access my DMs from anywhere.
So, now we can access Instagram DMs from any browser and any operating system. How do you feel about it? Does it change anything or you?

no icon here (Netherlands), maybe laid out per region?
It usually takes a few days until new features roll out for everyone, from what I’ve noticed so far. I see it here in Serbia for both my accounts, so I assume you should see it soon, too. :)
Now if only we could upload from the browser.
