These are the most annoying ways to ask photographers to work for free

There are some annoying sentences that photographers, filmmakers, and other creatives hear way too often. And among them, there are plenty of excuses people will use to ask them to work for free. In this amusing video, comedian Tanya Hennessy acts them out in a pretty hilarious way. It’s funny enough not to make you blow your top when you hear them for who knows which time in your life.
Tanya goes through all those situations we’ve been through with clients or with family and friends who want us to shoot something for them. You know those situations when you’re offered a “unique opportunity” to work for free? Or when you work “for experience” even though you already have 30 years of it? Or perhaps when you’re asked to recommend someone cheaper because “you’re too expensive?” Tanya goes through all these situations and more, and it’s really amusing.
The video is from last year, but I somehow missed it. A friend who is an architect and designer shared it today, and I believe she’s gone through these situations many times. I watched the video, related to some of these sentences immediately, and I thought you might as well. So, how many of these sound familiar?

Spoiler: every way is annoying
lmao that’s pretty good.
I put up with this for 1:59, about 1:30 too long. It really is not great. Presumably she did not get paid for that gig.
