We have text-to-image and text-to-video generators, but what about text-to-GIF? Picsart has just introduced its AI GIF generator, and I’m telling you, this is the best thing that has happened to the AI world over the last few months. While the idea is amazing and the options are endless, the results are so unhinged that I laughed out loud when I got the GIFs resulting from my prompts. So, let me make your day with my ridiculous GIFs and show you how this thing works, so you can amuse yourself in the hours of boredom or, let’s be honest, procrastination.

Before we proceed, I have to say that I’m not trashing Picsart. They call their latest tool “unhinged” too, they know they’ve created a monster! Joke aside, this tool was super-fun to play with. And it’s pretty straightforward: Go to AI GIF Generator for Web and input your text prompt into the box on the left side of your screen. Be specific, the more specific you are, the better the result will be. Then you get to select from dozens of artistic styles, sizes, moods, colors, and qualities. Select “generate” and your GIF comes to life in a few seconds.

You can also use it on your smartphone. Download or update to the latest version of Picsart for iOS or Android. Open the app and select the “+” at the bottom of the screen. Start with a blank canvas, select “more tools” at the bottom of the screen, and find “AI GIF Generator.” Same as on the web, write your prompts, select your desired style, tap “generate” and wait a few seconds for your GIF.

Finally, here are some of the GIFs I created. I actually quite like the first one, showing a woman fighting a dragon. But the rest of them made me laugh out loud – maybe I’m the one who’s unhinged. Anyhow, here are the GIFs along with the prompts and the styles I used:

So what’s the point of Picsart’s AI GIF generator? In my opinion, pure fun! I personally plan to send these insane GIFs to my best friends in our group chat, along with the insane custom stickers we made from our own photos. It’s actually refreshing to see something that was made just for fun. So, go have some fun and play with the generator yourself. If you get stuck, there’s a very detailed explanation of how to use it on Picsart’s blog. And please, do share your creations in the comments!
