Instagram recently made it possible to send messages and watch live streams through a browser. And Opera wants to make it even more accessible. This browser now comes with a built-in Instagram icon in the sidebar to make it faster and simpler to access the app. There are several browsers out there and I guess each of them wants to draw more users by offering certain features. It seems that this is Opera’s attempt to do so.
If you download Opera 68 for desktop, it will have a built-in Instagram icon. As benefits, Opera lines the following in the announcement:
- Always at hand: Instagram is always available in your sidebar, so you don’t have to keep switching between tabs.
- Easy browsing: View, like, comment, and message with Instagram on your desktop – all while you browse the web.
- Get a better view: Watch Instastories, access your personal feed, and explore all of Instagram on a big screen.
- Pin Instagram: Divide your window between the Instagram app and your browser for easy multitasking.
Personally, I don’t find this anything handier than simply opening Instagram in a separate tab and switching to it when I need it. But that’s just me. What do you think of Opera’s new feature? Would it be enough for you to start using this browser if you haven’t so far?
