Meyer Optik Görlitz has just released Trioplan 35mm f/2.8 II. The new lens features a recognizable look and bokeh of other company’s lenses, and you can get one in pretty much any mount you want: 11 of them, to be exact.

With its 35mm focal length, the Meyer Optik Görlitz Trioplan 35mm f/2.8 II is aimed particularly at street and documentary photographers. However, this focal length can also work beautifully for landscapes, cityscapes, even portraits, so I’d say it’s a rather versatile lens. The maximum aperture is f/2.8 so it’s not super-fast, but it’s more than enough for achieving the beautiful background blur.

Speaking of background blur, this lens features a 12-blade aperture. It provides a recognizable “soap bubble” bokeh, and I personally love it. Here are the specs:

Deliverytime:30 days
Focal Length & Aperture:35mm / f2.8 - f22
Angle of View:63°
Aperture Blades:12
Filter diameter:52mm
Minimum object distance:0,2 m
Length (depends on mount):52mm - 78mm
Weight:270g - 300g
Housing:Aluminum / black anodized
Leica-Rangefinder:no (LiveView mandatory)

The Meyer Optik Görlitz Trioplan 35mm f/2.8 II is available in 11 different mounts, and each is priced at $899. It’s worth noting that each version is available only as a “special order,” so you will wait 30 days before it gets delivered. Here are the options:

  • Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 35mm f/2.8 II for Micro Four Thirds
  • Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 35mm f/2.8 II for Canon RF
  • Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 35mm f/2.8 II for Canon EF
  • Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 35mm f/2.8 II for Nikon Z
  • Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 35mm f/2.8 II for Nikon F
