LensRentals has announced that they are merging with another major rental company, LensProToGo. After over a decade of existence, the two rental giants have decided to join forces in an attempt to bring their customers the best rental experience.

As Roger Cicala of LensRentals writes, the first years in the business were scary for both his company and LensProToGo. He explains they have been “respectful competitors but also helped each other.” He expects that the newly formed partnership won’t only combine two great companies, but also two great management teams.

If you are the user of either LensRentals or LensProToGo, you should know how this affects you. As FStoppers writes, you shouldn’t feel any changes as a customer (at least not negative ones). First of all, both brands will continue to exist. LensRentals customers will soon have more options for pickup locations. As for the LensProToGo customers, they will notice a greater choice and availability of the gear. Also, their gear might ship from Lensrentals HQ in Memphis.

So, judging from the announcement, this merger will be positive both for the two companies and for their customers. Both brands will continue to exist, and you can go on renting the lenses from the one you’ve preferred so far. And while we’re at it, which company do you usually use to rent the gear? What do you think of this merger?
