Irix expands its cinema lens lineup to include Fuji X mount

Irix has today announced the addition of Fuji X mount to the list of mounts in which their lenses are available. This adds to the growing number of mounts, including Canon EF, Canon RF, Nikon Z, PL Mount, Micro Four Thirds and Sony E. The Irix lens lineup is still fairly small, covering only seven lenses – and even two of those are fairly similar to each other. But the addition of X mount will be very welcome to Fuji shooters.

All lenses in the Irix lineup feature a unified design to bring consistency to the range with aperture and focus ring positions and overall dimension and weight. This makes it easy to swap out on camera rigs and gimbals without needing to reconfigure or rebalance your camera.

There are seven lenses in the Irix cine lens lineup, and all of them are now available – or will be available soon, depending on what part of the world you’re in – in Fuji X mount flavour…

  • Irix 11mm T4.3
  • Irix 15mm T2.6
  • Irix 21mm T1.5
  • Irix 30mm T1.5
  • Irix 45mm T1.5
  • Irix 150mm T3.0 Macro 1:1
  • Irix 150mm T3.0 Telephoto

The X mount versions of the lenses don’t appear to be available at many retailers just yet, but they’ll no doubt start to show up fairly soon. That’s what usually happens when Irix announces something new. For now, if you need them that urgently, you can order them from the Irix website.

Fuji shooters, do you want native X mount lenses? Or do you prefer to adapt so you can reuse the glass on other systems?
