The next Insta360 action camera is no longer just a rumor, but most of its features remain a mystery. A Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filing has confirmed the existence of the Insta360 Ace Pro 3, giving camera watchers their first concrete evidence of the upcoming model while offering few clues about its imaging capabilities.
As first reported by The New Camera, the filing was submitted by Insta360 parent company Arashi Vision Inc. and received certification on September 29, 2026. It identifies the camera by its product name and model code, CINSABUA, under FCC ID 2AWWH-CINSABUA.
FCC filing confirms wireless connectivity
The regulatory documents identify the Ace Pro 3 as a wireless device supporting dual band Wi-Fi at 2.4GHz and 5GHz, along with Bluetooth. The filing also includes antenna testing, radio reports, and specific absorption rate testing.
These details confirm that the device has passed an important US regulatory step, but they reveal little about its camera hardware. The documents do not establish its sensor size, resolution, video recording modes, stabilization improvements, or lens specifications.
That means some of the more ambitious claims circulating online should be treated cautiously. Rumors have pointed to a 1 inch class sensor tuned by Leica, 8K video recording, and improved FlowState stabilization, but none of those features is confirmed by the FCC filing.

When could Insta360 announce it?
The New Camera points to Insta360’s previous product launches to estimate when the Ace Pro 3 might be announced. Its comparison shows that the Ace Pro 2 was announced a day after its October 2024 FCC filing, while the X5 followed a similar pattern in April 2025.
Other products have taken longer. The X6 reportedly had a gap of around 40 days between its filing and announcement, while the Luna Ultra took roughly 80 days.
Based on those examples and the Ace series’ previous October and November launches, The New Camera expects an announcement by November 2026. That remains a forecast rather than a confirmed launch date from Insta360.
Pricing is also unconfirmed. The New Camera cites rumors suggesting a price between $549 and $599, but there is no official price information in the regulatory documents.
The same applies to the rumored sensor and video upgrades. Until Insta360 announces the camera, buyers should not treat those specifications as established facts.
For action camera users, the next announcement is the one to watch. Will the Ace Pro 3 offer a meaningful imaging upgrade, or will its biggest changes lie elsewhere?
