Godox P260C Pro LED Panel

Godox has announced the new Godox P260C Pro ($99) bi-colour LED panel. Targeted towards small creators, the P260C Pro is extremely slim for easy storage in a small space but has a fairly large light output area. Built-in NFC also makes for easy smartphone pairing.

The exterior dimensions are 12.9×12.7″ across the main flat surface, and it’s only 1.65″ thick. This suggests that the output panel itself is right around 12×12″. For a panel of that size, especially with 45W output, it comes at anattractive price.

Godox P260C Pro – Bi-Colour LED Panel

The Godox P260C Pro is a bi-colour LED panel with a colour temperature range of 2800-6500K. As it’s just bi-colour and not full RGBW, there’s no green/magenta adjustment on this one. So, mixing it with other lights may or may not present challenges, depending on what those other lights are.

It weighs 1,032g without the handle, so it’s not super light, but it’s much lighter than many similar lights on the market. The handle, if you haven’t figured it out yet, is detachable. Godox says this offers “versatile mounting options” to maximise shoot efficiency.

Easy smartphone pairing and control

Many small creators, at least the type this light is targeted towards, will be using their smartphones to shoot their content. As such, Godox has made it easy to match the P260C Pro to your smartphone. It features built-in NFC capabilities, allowing you to simply scan and connect it to your phone.

For power, you’ve got a couple of options. You can either use the supplied AC power adapter or power it using Sony NP-F style batteries. Power adapters are a great solution for a permanent setup. But NP-F slots for use out of the studio are also nice to see on a panel this slim.

And it’s not just one slot, either. Oh no, it’s a pair. Godox doesn’t mention hot-swapping batteries, so presumably, it needs both to be inserted in order to drive its 45W output. You can also power the light from USB-PD chargers and power banks, however maximum output is cut, depending on the wattage supplied.

I don’t see any barn doors, or a means to fit them. Without some way to shape the output it can be just an frustrating blob of light.
