Australian hotel offers guests to pose for nude portraits [NSFW]

The Art Series Hotel Group from Australia offers their visitors quite a unique package. From May 1 to June 15, all the guests will be able to get nude, strike a pose and have a team of artists turn them into a masterpiece.

The “No Robe package,” as they call it, allows guests to pose in front of the artists who will capture their beauty on canvas. But for the shy ones who can’t stand the thought of posing nude in front of the strangers, there’s another solution – the camera. The hotel sends a specialized camera to the guest’s room, they take a photo, and the artists later turn it into a drawing.

This attractive offer includes a sleepover at any of the seven Group’s hotels in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Bendigo. The price is AUS$229 (US$172) per night. For this price, you either get a team of artists to draw you on the spot or the camera to take your photo, as I mentioned above. And of course, I’m more concerned with this latter approach.

If you choose to have your nude beauty recreated from a photo, you’ll get a purpose-built camera unit delivered to your room. On your check-in, you’ll get to choose the time when you want the camera to arrive, and you’ll have two hours to get the photo before the camera is removed.

Then, you choose the picture you like best. After the person from staff approves it, they send it to the artists who will create a drawing. The hotel points out that the photos are sent to artists via encrypted link, so they are well protected. After the drawing is done, the photo is deleted permanently, and they will not distribute it anywhere else. You’ll get the final work of art in a beautiful package to bring home as a quirky holiday memory.

Personally, I love to pose, and I’ve always wanted someone to “draw me like one of the French girls.” But I definitely wouldn’t feel comfortable knowing that my nude photo is out there, no matter the promise that it’s protected and that it will be deleted. So I think I’d skip the camera part and rather pose in person if I had to choose. What about you? Would you book this package and have the artists draw you? If yes, would you decide to take a photo, or you’d feel safer if it was all done in person?
