Samyang’s new online lens simulator lets you try out 10-300mm f/1.2-36 lenses on FF, APS-C and MFT

Samyang has launched a new lens simulator on the Samyang website. Its purpose, as one would suggest, is a way for potential lens buyers to check out how a particular focal length and aperture of a given lens might work on their own camera.
It offers a wide range of focal lengths from an ultra-wide 10mm all the way up to 300mm as well as apertures ranging from f/1.2 to f/32. It also covers three different sensor sizes of full-frame, a 1.5x APS-C crop (sorry, Canon!) and 2x Micro Four Thirds. Gear more for photographing portraits, you can even change the focus distance of your subject.
There are one or two slight oddities with certain focal lengths and environments, where your subject turns into an extra from Ant-Man, so you might need to use your imagination a little with some focal length and focus distance combos, but it should help to give you a good idea of the overall field of view for your sensor at a given focal length, and sometimes the relative scale of your subjects.
The feature’s only just launched, so I expect Samyang will iron out the “little” wrinkles as time goes on. If you want to have a play with it for yourself, head on over to the Samyang website.
