While she was taking photos at Hocking Hills State Park last month, Ohio-based photographer Victoria Schafer got tragically killed by a falling branch of a tree. The authorities stated back then that they suspected foul play. And it seems that was correct, as two teenagers have reportedly confessed to being involved in the tragic incident.
As previously reported, Victoria Schafer of Chillicothe was taking photos near Old Man’s Cave at Hocking Hills State Park. The 44-year-old photographer was taking senior pictures of six high school students when a part of a tree fell on her. The incident occurred on 2 September around 5:30 p.m., and Schafer was later pronounced dead.
According to WHIO7, two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, were taken into custody on Thursday by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. They are reportedly charged with reckless homicide and they are currently being held at the juvenile detention center in Lancaster. Considering that they are underage, their identities haven’t been revealed.
After the tragedy, Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers offered a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons involved in Schafer’s death. Following up on the original post, Crime Stoppers wrote that it’s not known yet whether any tips they received helped with the investigation. “However, hopefully this resolves everything for the family,” they added.

How tragic and senseless!
Silly question but does anyone know why she is holding camera in a strange way? Its upside down in wrong hand.
It’s not upside down and she’s holding it by the grip so def not in the wrong hand.
Maybe you are looking at the picture,
But on the video, she is holding the grip with her left hand.
If she is a lefty, she will put the camera upside down when looking at it.
If She want to take her right hand, she will have to twist quite a lot her bones.
.
I guess it was a request from the cameraman to fit the frame.
But, yes, it’s upside down if she want to take a picture.
.
Nerveless, quite a tragedy here.
