This photographer shot three models in crocodile-infested water without safety gear

We have certainly seen all kinds of dangerous stunts for the sake of photography. A recent video published by New York Post shows one of the crazies I’ve seen so far. Underwater photographer Ken Kiefer took three models to crocodile-infested waters for underwater shots – and the women got face to face with the fierce animals. What’s more, the team even used lionfish to lure the beasts near the models.
The photo shoot took place in the waters of the Chinchorro Banks in Mexico. Kiefer photographed his wife and two other models in the life-threatening setting in order to get some underwater glamour shots. As you can see in the video, safety divers were at the shoot in order to protect the models. However, the women were face to face with the beasts wearing only their glamorous dresses, without any safety equipment.
Watching this video instantly reminded me of the recent event when an “Instagram model” got bitten by a shark while posing for photos. People will definitely perform all kinds of dangerous and irresponsible stunts just to take photos. I was even present once when a fellow photographer did it, and it resulted in falling through the ice. And although I know that some photographers and models are ready to do just anything – videos and photos like this still manage to surprise me. I can just say I’m happy no one got hurt. And I’m glad that Photoshop exists, so we don’t all need to dive with crocodiles if we want to get some badass photos.

Can’t fix stupid.
*cough* Natural Selection */cough*
Yes you can – bullet to the head
Daniel Scott Fix not erase
I guess thats why you take three models so whatever happens you can finish the shoot.
Title says “…without safety gear…” Open the link and see a picture of two people with spear guns. Click bait
That croc could have snapped her, broken half the bones in her body, and dashed 15 meters away before those spear holders could even level their guns.
Yeah, I don’t think you realize how quick a crock moves. Like Shachar said, by the time the spear went into the cross, the girl could have been dead.
Shachar Weis I;m sure they did feed those crock to capacity first. That said, a predator is a predator. The croc could have lunged at her just because something pissed him.
Hasn’t he heard of Photoshop to composite/merge images? !!!

American crocodiles aren’t dangerous if you know them well.
I’m not sure I’d take the chance. Wild animals are unpredictable…
It’s one thing to meet one by chance, but to organize a shoot around it… I’d be wary…
Their organising a shoot around the animal means that they likely trained and learned about them before attempting the shoot with models.
You simply couldn’t do this with a species such as the Nile or Estuarine crocodile
Is it crocodile or model infested the right term?
This. It’s not like a house is human infested if people are inside, so why are animals different
It seems the models outnumber the crocodile 3 to 1
Jolyon Ralph hence the models have infested the crocodile’s habitat
FFS, you mean the crew right next to the photographer and above the water don’t count? Fucking sensational uninformed poor pathetic click bait hungry third grade editors and writers have no clue.
Why should the croc face death or injury for a photo. He’s not doing anything but living in his home. These people knowingly my invaded his space.
lucky they had a couple of spare models
Competition for the Darwin Award ?
Why go to all that effort and risk to not-comp an image that looks like a comp?
Right‽
Hope the modles got extra hazard pay.
If the model is stupid enough to take the job I have no sympathy for anything that happens to her.
And if something did, the crocs would most likely pay the price.
Stupid at it’s finest. Then if someone gets hurt or killed doing this then the animal will get killed. Get rid of this loser. You can add the croc with photoshop.
Survival of the fittest! If that croc had snapped at the model’s head, the “safety divers” would have been too late and the model seriously injured, if not killed. This is just stupid and as somebody else said, it wouldn’t be the croc’s fault and the crocs shouldn’t suffer from human stupidity! Irresponsible at best, from both the model and the photog.
