What photographers would say if they were 100% honest with clients

John Aldred

John Aldred is a photographer with over 25 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter – and occasional beta tester – of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

You know how, some people, they just don’t have that filter between their brain and their mouth? Know any photographers like that? Well, if you’ve ever thought what that might be like in a real shoot, wonder no more. Canadian comedian Lilly Singh has put her own version together in this two and a half minute long video.

She writes “This is what your photographer REALLY meant to say to you when he made you take 400 photos and not one was in focus”.

I don’t necessarily agree with everything she says in this video, but a couple of these have definitely entered my mind once or twice. I kept my mouth closed, though.

How about you? Have you said what’s really on your mind to a client?
