Victoria’s Secret In Hot Water For Photoshop Disaster [NSFWish]

A little while back, Victoria’s Secret lunched a new line of underwear called Mesh-back Cheeky Panty. Now this usually wont land them an article in a photography related blog, but the photo VS posted on their social media channels [NSFW link] was an epic Photoshop fail.

The photo is showing a model wearing the underwear from behind but both the model’s legs and her bottom were missing something. In the case of her legs one leg was missing more meat than the other, and in the case of the bottom, one cheek had disappeared completely.

To VS’s honors (I think) I would say that they completely took ownership of this Photoshop disaster and they owned it so hard that they never took the photo off, even after being hit again and again with commentary pointing out the missing cheek.

One reader went as far as “fixing” the badly shopped image for VS:

The some commenters said that they are perfectly fine with bad Photoshop as long as they liked the products:

And many commenters referred to the issue of the model being too thin, regardless of Photoshop. Comments like “Victoria’s secret needs some curvier models” or “VS photos say, “Get skinny get skinny get skinny so you can be hot hot hot!” Am I the only one that hears that?” were very common on the thread showing that not everyone shares the taste for super skinny models. Shopped or not.

If Victoria’s Secret did not have enough trouble, a teen  brand called Aerie, is doing just the opposite, showing un-retouched woman which are no perfect but real and beautiful and each photoshop fail like this is answered with a wave of comments telling VS they are losing yet another customer to Aerie.

What do you think?
