When you think of sports photography, mixed martial arts (MMA) probably isn’t the first sport that comes across your mind. But don’t think for a second it’s not as — if not more — action packed as any other sporting event out there.

To give us a peek inside the world of MMA photography, photographer Sam Fagan has shared a POV GoPro video showing what it’s like to shoot alongside the octagon for a series of fights.

The video shows a series of Full Contact Fighting Federation (FCFF) fights at the Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon. The competitors aren’t exactly Ronda Rousey or Conor McGregor, but they’re definitely exciting.

As you might pick up in the video, shooting through the fence into an octagon is no easy task. Not only are you working with very little light more often than not, you also have a chain-link fence to work around, as well as a ref, who seems to always be in the way.

Fagan has posted a full album of the images on his Facebook Fan Page.
