Dicture Gallery

Photographing certain subject matter is harder than others.

This couldn’t be more true for photographer Soraya Doolbaz, a New York-based photographer who specializes in phalllic fashion photography.

Hoax or not, all signs point to the legitimacy that the Iranian-born photographer started from humble beginnings to turn an unlikely subject matter into a successful business.

In a video titled ‘The Art of Dick Pics,’ Doolbaz tells the story of how her career as a penis fashion photographer came to be:

Back when I was single, I would get a ton of dick pics and my friends would get them, and we would show them to each other and some dick pics were better than the other ones, and I thought, ‘what if I took them with a professional camera?’ And then I was walking through a Walmart and I saw a couple of dolls. I just kind of put two and two together and thought I could create a personality out of penises.

And that she did. Little by little, she built her portfolio from the ground up, creating the Dicture Gallery and even launching a successful line of adult novelty products.

To cap it all off, Doolbaz was featured at Art Basel in Miami, Florida, an annual contemporary art fair, whose ‘goal has been to connect the world’s premier galleries and their patrons.’

Below is another video from Doolbaz, sharing how the Dicture Gallery came to fruition:

While her subject matter is unorthodox, at least when dressed up in doll fashion, it’s difficult to knock her career choice when she’s had so much success.

Is it artsy? We’ll leave that up to you to decide. Is she successful? We’ll let her $10,000 limited edition prints of penises answer that for you, for better or worse.
