The Godox V1 is the new and somewhat controversial round head speedlight from Godox. The controversy is a topic for another discussion, although feel free to do so in the comments if you really feel you have to. For now, we’re going to take a little more of a look at the Godox V1 flash itself.

This morning, the folks at Pixapro received a pre-production unit – it’s essentially the same as the final thing except for the firmware version. They brought it into The Photography Show and I had the opportunity to take a brief look at it and have a little bit of a play. So, I’m going to quickly go over some of the features that stood out to me, and my overall first impressions of the Godox V1 round head speedlight.

While Nikon’s lens roadmap is pretty clear, their intentions for future bodies isn’t, really. But Nikon has suggested that a lower entry level full frame mirrorless camera to compete with Canon’s recently announced EOS RP would be on the way. Now it looks like we might have the first leaked photo of that body, and it appears to have a name. The Nikon Z1.

It looks like Canon may be hoping to succeed where Nikon failed with its short-lived KeyMission series of cameras. The folks at Cinema5D spotted a rather interesting looking camera on the Canon stand at CP+ 2019 this year, and so they had a quick chat with them about it. It looks like Canon may be planning to tackle the action camera market.

The video above is in Japanese, although it comes with English subtitles. So make sure to turn those on if you’re having a little trouble following the conversation.

Tokina has announced their new “Opera” 16-28mm f/2.8 full frame lenses for Nikon & Canon DSLRs. Sitting at a pretty low price point compared to the Nikon and Canon alternatives, the new lens is targeted towards landscape, architectural and astrophotography uses. Of course, with a lens this short of focal length and this wide of an aperture, there are many other potential uses for it, too.

Panasonic’s announcement from CES today talks about the upcoming Lumix S1 and S1R cameras announced at Photokina. On initial announcement, not a lot of information was released. We know that the S1 will house a 24-megapixel full frame sensor, and the S1R will be 47-megapixels. We also know that they would both utilise Leica’s L mount.

But beyond that, there’s still not a lot out there. But now Panasonic has released information two of the features that will be coming to the Lumix S series cameras. High Resolution Mode and “HLG Photo” (High Dynamic Range). Oh, and we also have a release date.
