We’re only a few days away from “Rogue One” premiere, so we decided to present you with a photo editing tutorial that can help you turn anyone into a Jedi.  Mathieu Stern has published this comprehensive and easy tutorial on his website, and all you need are a Jedi, a few props, a tripod and a camera. And some Force, naturally.

To get the final result, you will need to take three photos: one with the model sitting on a stool, one with someone holding the prop, and one with the empty background. Make sure to place the camera on a tripod and take the shots without moving it.

When you are done shooting, open the images in Photoshop and load them into stack. Remove the stool from the photo, and do the same for the prop by removing the person holding it. When you are done with removing these, add the missing shadow under your Jedi. And that’s it! See the result in the images below, and full tutorial in the video.

In case you want to leave the lightsaber on, Mathieu will show you how in another tutorial. Let’s face it, real lightsabers won’t exist during our lifetime, but fortunately Photoshop is here. Here’s how to add glow to the lightsaber in Photoshop and get your Jedi ready to fight the Dark Side:

May the Force be with you!
