The winner of the Siena Drone Photo Awards 2023 has been announced. This contest focuses on aerial photography and is part of the renowned Siena Awards Festival of visual arts. This year, the overall winner is Or Adar, a talented photographer from Israel, with his incredible shot of protests titled Must Resist.
The winning photo captures thousands of protesters, some of whom are hidden beneath three enormous billboards. It’s a powerful image that tells a story and draws you in, taken during recent protests in Israel. For me personally, it stirs some strong emotions, as people in Serbia have been protesting, too, for over a month now.
But back to the contest. Alongside Adar’s winning shot, there are also winners from nine other categories: Urban, Wildlife, Sport, People, Nature, Abstract, Wedding, Storyboard, and Video. And all of them are striking!
If you’re eager to see this year’s winners and runner-ups in person, mark your calendars. The Siena Awards festival will run from September 30 to November 19, 2023. They will be displayed in the Above Us Only Sky exhibition, which will be held at the magnificent San Galgano Abbey. It’s the first time this exhibition will take place there, and Siena Awards promises it will be a sight to behold. And I bet it will!
For all of us who aren’t lucky enough to live in Italy, a consolation prize comes in the form of an online winner gallery. Hey, that’s something, right? :) We bring you the winners of the Siena Drone Photo Awards 2023 below, and you can stay up to date with the latest information on Siena’s website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
