Alexander Khokhlov and Veronica Ershova, have already shown us what they can do when photographing people as a team. But this time, their main subjects were dogs. The duo’s latest project The Dog Show is all about man’s best friend. Alexander and Veronica have created portraits of dogs showing their different personalities and emotions, and they’ll put a smile on your face even if you’re not much of a dog person. I guarantee!

I personally love animals and I believe each of them has a unique character. Alexander and Veronica think the same, and I’m sure all of you who have pets will agree. “Dog owners will agree that our canine friends have unique personalities beyond the traits of their breed,” Alexander says. Well, he and Veronica focused their project precisely on these traits. And their four-legged friends showed themselves as incredible models.

The Dog Show series of photos has won many awards, including Grand Prix at the Rangefinder Awards, first place at the PDN Creatures and Moscow International Foto Awards, silver medals at Prix De La Photographie Paris and One Eyeland award.

The Dog Show project reveals the human-like traits we can see in different breeds of dogs, beyond those traits determined by the breed itself. Some dogs are somber, others mischievous, haughty, laughing, sad, angry, and indifferent. But there’s one thing they all have in common – they’re absolutely adorable.

Take a look at more photos below, and you can also find them on Behance (Season 1, Season 2, Season 3). Also make sure to check out more of Alexander’s work on his website, Instagram, and Behance; and you can follow Veronica’s work on Behance and Instagram.
