Photo Series Shows How Hard It Is For Photographers To Shoot Their Girlfriends

If you are a photographer chances are that you like to take photos of your family, friends and significant others. But not everyone likes to have their photos taken. In fact, there are quite a lot of people who specifically don’t like their photo to be taken, and will find creative ways to avoid being photographed. Anyone who has a photo of a hand between the face of the ‘model’ and the camera knows what I am talking about.
Photographer Mikaël Theimer has a girlfriend who does not enjoy being photographed, and she took the avoidance act to a new heights.
While some will see this as a sign to stop shooting, Mikaël created a series of photos showing how hard it can be to take a photo of those who want to avoid it and are alert enough.
Mikaël shares that:
I love my girlfriend, and I’m a photographer, so I love to take pictures of my girlfriend, right? Problem is, she hates it when I do: whenever I raise my camera and point it to her, she finds a way to hide her face
Do you experience similar issues with your significant other?

I definitely don’t have this issue with mine! http://www.kevinluc.com/muse.php
woah i love your photos what are you shooting with and how do you get them soooo clean!
Thanks! The gallery is in reverse chronological order so everything with purple hair and prior was the Canon 5DMKII but the red hair until now was shot with either a Fuji X-T1 or X-M1
Unreal I really really love your work and the soul you have. I’m just starting and have a 5ds a canon 11-24mm and a canon 70-200mm f4 IS…and I’m just about to buy something that gives me this exact look. Any lens you would recommend? Or tips you could give in terms of lighting ?
I don’t actually use zooms so all of my lenses are primes which allows me to shoot with larger apertures. I also tend to shoot wider than most favouring something around 20mm or 24mm (My two favourite lenses on my Canon was the Sigma 20mm f/1.8 and the Canon 24mm f/1.4L). Sigma makes a newer 20mm f/1.4 which I’d buy if I had the 5D.
Thank you that’s actually the biggest help ever :)

I googled that error and seems like a possible Chrome issue. Maybe try another browser or mobile? Thanks
I tried with FireFox and page wouldn’t load either.
Just tried again and it’s working.
Great!
Only if they use a camera.
My (patient, supportive, long-suffering) wife encouraged me to start shooting models because she was tired to being the subject of my photos.
Well, that’s my wife.
..are boyfriends easier to shoot?
nope my boyfriend hates it if I try to take pictures of him. but during holidays he accepts it a little bit, but only for 2 seconds so I have to be quick :-)
Joanita Sarah lol

I find the bathroom one hilarious
I think it’s cute.
as a photographer i hate photos of myself
Girlfriends??? I thought this site was about photography… and photographer use cameras, not a dick!
Erez Peled ?
My wife complains that I don’t take enough pictures of her and our friends. Its true.
I have a sister-in-law like this. When she dies, there won’t be any decent shots for the wake or obituary. Shame.
My wife hates it and can get quite mad when I try. She is sometimes willing, but only after 30 minutes of makeup and hair prep, and then she has to give the same “high school yearbook” pose every time. It’s like pulling teeth to get her to relax and try a pose that is more natural, despite the fact that those are the ones that always turn out the best. However, more often than not, she notices me taking a photo, kneejerks with some horrible expression, and then complains that she takes bad photos. At least the subject in these photos hides herself in adorable ways.
