The 4th of July is still a few months away, but there’s no harm in getting an early start on editing firework photos. To explain how to properly blend together multiple exposures of fireworks, photographer Jimmy McIntyre has shared an in-depth tutorial.
Throughout the video, which comes in at exactly seven-and-a-half minutes, McIntyre explains the best approach to blending multiple fireworks exposures in Photoshop. As almost anyone would nowadays, he suggests using RAW photos so that as much information as possible can be extracted from the photos.
Once the photos are exposed as he sees fit, he shows how a simple blending mode trick can be used to create seamless compositions. A great watch now and something you’ll want to keep around come July.
