How To Build A 5-point LED Interview Set Up

Here is a quick and easy setup from Dedo Weigert Film for making a 5 point lighting setup using nothing but LED lights.

This is a very nice single person interview light without to much drama. In the movie they are using Dedolight’s FELLONI LED panels and DLED4 focusing LEDs to create a key/fill and two kicker setup:

Here is what the setup looks like:

  • One rim with a focusing light
  • One rim with the LED panel
  • Key and fill using two more LED panels
  • and background light using the last focusing LED

And here are the results:

Of course this specific setup will set you back about 6.5 thousand Dollars, but the principles remain even if you opt for cheaper lights like the Aputure’s Amaran and on camera LED spot lights.
