“Anti-Instagram” app BeReal has been growing in popularity, and no surprise: other social media apps started copying. After Instagram (oh the irony), SnapChat is now adding one of BeReal’s most recognizable features: Dual Camera.
The concept of the Dual Camera is pretty straightforward. It allows you to capture both your front and the back camera perspectives at the same time. Open your Snapchat and you’ll see a new icon in the camera toolbar. You can then use it for Snaps, Stories, or Spotlight videos.
To be fair, the Dual Camera isn’t a verbatim copy of BeReal’s trademark feature. It’s, in fact, a little more versatile. You can choose between four layouts including vertical, horizontal, picture in picture, and cutout. And Snapchat being Snapchat, you also get to add all those creative tools including music, Stickers, and Lenses.
Dual Camera is available globally on iOS, but Snap says that Android support is coming “in the coming months.”
