Fuji X-H2 camera was announced yesterday right after some specs had leaked. And if you’re thinking of buying it but don’t have lenses, Fuji thought of it too.

Along with the camera, Fujifilm has announced two new APS-C zoom lenses: XF 18-120mm f/4 R LM PZ WR and XF 150-600mm f/5.6-8 R LM OIS WR. The first can cover all of your shooting needs, especially if you’re a beginner or a hobbyist, and the second one lets you get really close to your subject and it’s ideal for wildlife and sports. Let’s see what Fuji has to offer with these two new lenses.

Fujifilm XF 18-120mm f/4 R LM PZ WR

The Fuji XF 18-120mm f/4 is a standard zoom lens made with both photographers and filmmakers in mind. It covers a wide range of focal lengths: from the wide 18mm to the tight 120mm, so it’s ideal as a go-to lens. As it’s made for APS-C cameras, you get a 27-183mm equivalent focal length range.

While this is an AF lens, its manual focus features are adjusted to video creators. Fuji promises smooth manual focus, paired with a stepless, de-clicked aperture ring. Power zoom can easily and smoothly transition throughout the focal length range, and you can control it using a newly designed zoom lever.

The lens features two custom function buttons you can use to preset a constant zoom speed, focal length, or focus point. The constant f/4 maximum aperture offers consistent illumination throughout the zoom range.

As for the build, the Fuji XF 18-120mm f/4 features three aspherical elements to control distortions and spherical aberrations in order to produce sharper photos with more accurate rendering. Three extra-low dispersion elements reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing throughout the zoom range. It features a rounded seven-blade diaphragm for smooth, circular bokeh.

Last but not least, the lens is weather-resistant, working in dusty, humid, and wet conditions and temperatures down to 14°F (-10°C). Front fluorine coating protects against water, grease, dirt, and smudging, and also makes it easier to clean the front element.

The Fuji XF 18-120mm f/4 is available for preorders and costs $899.

Fujifilm XF 150-600mm f/5.6-8 R LM OIS WR.

The Fujifilm XF 150-600mm f/5.6-8 is a super-telephoto lens that lets you come close to your subjects from afar. On APS-C cameras, it offers a 229-914mm equivalent focal length range. It’s also compatible with the optional XF 1.4x and 2x WR teleconverters, which can extend the lens to a further effective 1828mm equivalent focal length.

This lens is equipped with optical image stabilization which compensates for up to five stops of camera shake. Fuji promises that it will help when shooting handheld under lower lighting conditions, but I’d suggest not combining the two with the maximum aperture of f/5.6.

Thanks to a linear motor system, the XF 150-600mm f/5.6-8 offers fast and reliable autofocus performance. Fuji promises that it’s near-silent, so it’s suitable for video as well. This focusing system also helps to greatly reduce focus breathing.

On-lens focusing controls for immediate, tactile adjustment over focusing settings: focus range limiter switch, AF-ON, and AF-L buttons.
