For all those who are just starting off with Photoshop, Adobe has launched a free YouTube course to introduce you to the software and its most important features. Longtime Adobe evangelist Julieanne Kost is teaching you the basics, and even if you already have some experience – there may still be something new to learn.

The course is placed in a YouTube playlist, and so far there are seven videos explaining some of the basic Photoshop tools. First of all, you will learn how to work with tools such as Crop, Brushes and the like. The tutorial explains working with layers and gives you several ways of achieving the results you want. What I like is that, in pretty short videos, you’ll get to learn how to use the tools, but also master the shortcuts and tricks to help you be faster and more efficient.

If you’d like to see more of the tutorial or recommend it to a Photoshop newbie, make sure to visit Adobe’s YouTube channel and go to the course playlist. Although there are only seven videos for now, I believe the list will keep on updating and there’ll be more to learn.
