Hollyland is one of the big names in crew headsets at the moment. The company’s Solidcom C1 was launched in 2022, upgraded to “Pro” in 2023 and now supports up to 20 headsets – thanks to the recently released roaming hub. But kits for large crews means a large wallet.

So, Hollyland has announced the new Hollyland Solidcom SE ($229-579), a lower-budget alternative to the C1 Pro for smaller crews. They’re pretty similar, though. We stopped by the Hollyland booth at IBC 2024 to find out more about them.

Hollyland Solidcom SE

The Hollyland Solidcom SE is essentially a cut-down version of the company’s Solidcom C1 Pro system, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. It doesn’t have quite the durability of its more expensive sibling, the battery life isn’t quite as good, and the SE only has a single-ear option, but the specs for the two are very similar.

The Solidcom C1 Pro system supports up to 20 users with the C1 Roaming Hub. The Solidcom SE system supports up to 5, and units are available either individually in Master or Remote form or as a set of 2-5 units, including one Master with the rest made up of Remotes.

Those units will run for up to 10h for the master or 12 hours on a remote headset on a full charge. The master takes 6 hours to charge up, while the remote headsets take 2.5 hours.

It operates on a 2.4GHz digital signal with a 335m (1,100ft) range, providing a full-duplex signal. The microphone offers a 150Hz to 7kHz frequency response, same as the C1 Pro, with 115dB max SPL. (And if you already own a Solidcom C1 Pro set, they are play nicely together) The Solidcom SE also boasts the company’s advanced Environmental Noise Cancellation to help you communicate more clearly.

Price and Availability

The Hollyland Solidcom SE is available to pre-order now for $229-579. Shipping is expected in the coming weeks.
