True Tilt-Shift With Smartphones and CCTV Lenses

Maciej Pietuszynski (Instagram) is no stranger to Tilt-Shift Lenses. His shower head tilt shift lens is one of the all time greatest hits here on DIYP.

But Maciej is now shooting with a smartphone (as we all) and needed to adapt, he made this pictorial for us explaining how to use an industrial CCTV lens to create a real smartphone Tilt-Shift effect.
The lens in question is a Goyo 4.5mm f/1.4 lens (but other lenses are a pretty cheap to obtain). The first step is to take it apart and combine the front element with one of the back elements with a few small plastic screws. You can add a zip tie if you want, but it is not necessary. The elements of choice may vary depending on the CCTV lens that you use.

The next step involves a rubber band and a smartphone case.

And this is what you get after a quick snapseed edit:

You might want to update the permalink as well ;-)
Freudian slip there? ;-)
Just saw this error 2m ago on Zite, so you might want to get that fixed as well…
Somebody likes Snapseed’s HDR mode!
So nothing to do with shift, and nothing to do with tilt, either.
