I guess most of us have lost all hopes of attending any mass events in 2020. But the coronavirus pandemic is already affecting 2021, too. After trade shows scheduled for the current year, CES 2021 now becomes an online-only event as well.

The event stays scheduled for January, as usual. Only instead of gathering exhibitors and customers in Las Vegas, next year’s CES will be an “all-digital experience,” as the organizers describe it. Just like this year’s NAB, Adobe Summit, and CP+, the reason for moving online is the same: coronavirus concerns.

According to the organizers, CES 2021 will offer a highly personalized experience:

  • Keynotes and conferences. Now you’ll have a front-row seat for groundbreaking announcements and insights from the world’s tech leaders completely online.
  • Product showcase. With this digital evolution of the CES show floor, you’ll be able to explore products and services, based on your interests and business, through dynamic product showcases or live demos.
  • Meetings and networking. You’ll be able to engage with the brands, thought leaders, and business connections you care about with live interactions, meetups, or roundtable discussions.

The online conference will take place from 6 to 9 January 2021. The plan is to return to the in-person event in Las Vegas in 2022, but it will combine physical and digital show. Since the conference is still five months away, more information is to come, and you can read more and register here.

It will end, but it will take another year or even two.
