lrmobile-marqueeBack in October, Adobe announced iOS users no longer needed a paid Creative Cloud subscription to use its Lightroom for iOS 2.0 app. Now, Android users have the same luxury – version 1.4 of Lightroom Mobile for Android is now free for all users.

While not as powerful as its desktop equivalent, Lightroom Mobile is one of the most powerful image editors available on mobile devices.

Its sorting, organization and editing features are a bit convoluted at times, but once you get the hang of it, it’s about as powerful as you could ask any mobile editing suite to be – not to mention capable of being synchronized with the most widely used post processing software by photographers across the globe.

2015-12-08_0001Earlier this year, Android brought full raw DNG support to its phones. Lightroom Mobile for Android capitalizes on these new capabilities by providing a full raw DNG workflow to take advantage of the extra data captured (if your phone is capable of capturing raw images).

Below is a video from Android Central showing off Adobe Lightroom for Android when it was released earlier this year:

Lightroom Mobile for Android is free to download, but as you might expect, it requires a free trial or paid Creative Cloud subscription to sync your images and edits across multiple devices.

To find out more information and to pick up your free copy of Lightroom Mobile for Android, head on over to the Google Play Store.
