Our Photowalk Club ...
A few times a year, our photowalk club gets together for some DIY projects. Tomorrowwe are going to build the DIY DSLR Pinhole body cap to honor World Pinhole Camera Day.

Fun stuff!
Pinhole Cameras
In 7th grade I took a photography class and we did the shoebox pinhole cameras. They were a lot of fun to build and develop the pictures, and it wasn't too hard at all. Developing the pictures was my favorite part, and I think it is sad that over time it will probably become a thing of the past due to digital photography.
DIY safelight
Did you see Janne's DIY safelight? its on the second page of the second camera. I am not interested in ever going into a darkroom again but I think it is a great project for someone who needs it.
re: DIY safelight
yup, it is pretty cool, isn't it?
I am glad I don't have to go in a dark room ever again (unless I want to :)
Pin Hole Camera
Our camera club worked with the university's photography professor for a pinhole camera seminar. We used pinhole boxes that he had put together including oatmeal containers.
I liked the project so I went home and drilled a one inch hole in a canon body cap. Then I taped a piece of black construction paper over it to punch the pinhole.
I understand that the farther the hole is from the film or camera sensor - the longer the focal length. Though I had trouble with the body cap, it's as close to the sensor as one can get. I would think that with a pin prick hole - tiny aperture that there should be more of the image in focus. I couldn't figure out at what distance my camera would focus. Regardless of what scene I photographed, everything seemed soft.
I really don't expect tack sharpness, but I did think there'd be a different outcome.
