Insta360 has posted a new teaser image and video to social media for a new Insta360 camera to be released on March 9th. There isn’t really much information in the teaser about exactly what may be coming, except that whatever it is is really small and seems to be able to fit into some really tight spaces.

The Insta360 ONE X2 has a touchscreen OLED UI, IPX8 waterproofing and longer battery life
When Insta360 released the original Insta360 ONE X in 2018 (review here), it kind of shook things up for the pocket-sized 360 camera market. It shot 5.7K footage with pretty revolutionary, almost gimbal-like stabilisation with better dynamic range and more features through its smartphone app than just about any of its contemporaries at the time.
Well, today, Inta360 has announced an update with the launch of the new Insta360 ONE X2. I’ve been having a bit of play with one for the last couple of weeks, so let’s take a look at some of the changes, see how it differs from its predecessor and what I love about the new ONE X2.
Insta360 hints at new camera coming on October 28th with new teaser video
Insta360 has released a teaser website and video for an upcoming camera to be announced on October 28th. While the company has not yet said anything else about the new camera, there are some things about it that we might be able to glean from the teaser.
You can now use the Insta360 ONE R as a USB webcam and live stream 360° video
Insta360 has posted a massive feature update today for the Insta360 ONE R. It expands the camera’s capabilities with several new features to offer new shooting modes, speed up your workflow and improve image quality and colour. Today’s update also comes with two very big (constantly asked for) features, too. You can now use the Insta360 ONE R as a USB webcam, and you can also live stream 360° video to YouTube and Facebook.
These are the best consumer 360° cameras you can buy right
360° cameras have come far in the last couple of years. I remember trying out the first version of the Ricoh Theta and thinking that it was a cool idea, but the quality and feature set just wasn’t there. When the YI 360 VR was released, offering 5.7K resolution, I felt they were finally starting to hit that point. But the tech that goes into 360° cameras has come much further since then.
But what are the top consumer picks when it comes to 360° cameras? In this video, Daniel The 360 Guy shows us his top five 360° cameras that you can get today. Daniel points out the good, the bad and the “ok” for each of the cameras. Possibly not surprisingly, there isn’t really a single “best” camera that’s good for all uses, but each has its own advantages and disadvantages over the others for different needs.
Insta360 teams up with Leica for the ONE R – A modular action camera with a 5.3K 1″ sensor
Action cameras seem to come out with alarming regularity, and more players are jumping into the field every year. But there’s been very little real innovation in action cameras beyond improving on what already exists. Insta360, though has taken a very different approach with their entry into the world of action cameras.
Announced today, the Insta360 ONE R sees Insta360 team up with Leica to develop a modular action camera that offers three different ways to shoot. A dual-lens “Super 5.7K” 360° module, a 4K wide-angle module, and a 1″ 5.3K wide-angle module developed in partnership with Leica. And there’s even an Aerial Edition which lets you mount it to a drone.
Insta360 blends a drone and three cameras. Literally
Insta360 has released a teaser for its upcoming camera. And even though we still don’t know much, the company reveals that the camera blends “an action cam, a 360 camera, a ‘1-inch cam’ and a drone.” So, in the teaser video, Insta360 relies on a word game and literally blends these four gadgets into the most expensive smoothie you’ve ever seen.
