If you’ve ever wanted to own a signed print from one of Magnum’s legendary photographers, now is the time. This October, Magnum Photos is teaming up with Aperture for a brand-new edition of its Square Print Sale. The theme? Youth: about “a moment, a memory — a state of becoming,” as Magnum Photos writes. “It’s the spark of firsts: the first glance, the first protest, the first kiss, the first fall, the first revelation.” It awakens the nostalgia inside of me just reading these words, and I absolutely love the selection of images as well!

This limited-time sale, running for just one week starting today, October 20, offers over 100 archival-quality, museum-grade prints. Each one is signed by the photographer or estate-stamped and priced at $110/£110/€120. The sale opens online at Magnum Photos Shop, and once it’s over, these prints will no longer be available in this format.

The image selection features iconic figures caught in their prime – like Dennis Stock’s famous James Dean portrait, Danny Clinch’s raw portrait of Bruce Springsteen, and Philippe Halsman’s image of Brigitte Bardot. There’s also Werner Bischoff’s haunting photo of Frida Kahlo, taken just months before her death.

But this collection isn’t only about celebrity portraits. It captures the universal restlessness of youth, of growing up and entering the adult world. From Robert Capa’s teens on a film set to Raymond Depardon’s kids blowing bubble gum in Glasgow, each photo celebrates the energy of coming of age.

Presented with Aperture, the sale includes works featured in the publisher’s historic and contemporary books and programs. Your purchase helps support not only the photographers but also Aperture’s nonprofit publishing and educational work worldwide.

Magnum Print Sale Info

Each print measures 6×6″ (15.24×15.24 cm) on archival paper, with a 5.5″ (14 cm) image on the longest side. Non-square images are bordered, not cropped. These prints aren’t sold by edition but by time – once the predefined period expires, they’re gone for good. This sale is fleeting just like our youth, I guess.

So whether you’re drawn to classic celebrity portraits, intimate moments, or just want an iconic print from one of Magnum photographers, this is your chance to bring home a print you’ll cherish. Take a look at the part of the collection below and choose your favorite between Monday, October 20, 09:00 a.m. EDT to Sunday, October 26, 11:59 p.m. EDT.
