imaging resource shut down

Imaging Resource’s founder Dave Etchells announced that the website would close down after 20 years. It was back in October 2019, but thankfully, it didn’t happen after all. Madavor Media acquired Imaging Resource on March 18, 2020, and the site continued to exist under the new management. “If IR is to continue in any form, it can only be in an environment that will support our decades-long commitment to objectivity and quality,” Etchells said back then. “I think I’ve found that kind of home in Madavor.”

However, Madavor Media was acquired by BeBop Channel in March 2023, so the ownership of Imaging Resource was automatically transferred to them. Without any warning, the website has been taken down. It’s offline for a few days now after nearly 25 years of operation. This is what you get when you visit it:

We have reached out to both Madavor Media and BeBop Channel for comment and clarification. If we hear back, we’ll update the article.

[Update May 17, 2023: We heard back from BeBop Channel who told us that “the property [would] be going on sale later today” and it would be listed on their websites.]
