Godox has joined Aputure and Nanlite in producing screw-in LED bulbs for practical use on set. The new lights are the Godox C7R (buy here) and C10R (buy here) KNOWLED RGBWW Creative Bulb Lights. The number in the name is the output wattage, and they both offer full RGBWW colour. Both lights are powered by screwing them into a standard E26/27 socket or externally via USB-C.

The Godox C7R also features a built-in battery, allowing you to use it with disconnected prop light fixtures. It has full brightness control and hue & saturation adjustments to let you seamlessly blend its colour into your set. It also features remote Bluetooth control, allowing you to control multiple lights simultaneously.

Both bulbs have a wide white balance range from 2000K all the way up to 10000K with green/magenta adjustment, letting you easily add them to existing practical light setups on location. They have a CRI of 96 and a TLCI of 97, with brightness adjustment from nothing to 100% through controls either on the light itself or remotely via Bluetooth using the Godox Light smartphone app.

The C7R and C10R bulbs fit into a standard E26/27 holder and can take power directly from the mains at 100-240v AC, so you can use them anywhere in the world. Both bulbs can also be powered over USB. The C7R requires 5v at 2.5A and the C10R requires 5v at 3A. Additionally, the C7R also sports a built-in 7.6v 1300mAh battery. This charges up in around two and a half hours on AC or 3 hours over USB and provides up to an hour’s unplugged use.

Price and Availability

The Godox C7R KNOWLED RGBWW Creative Bulb is available to pre-order now for $64.90 individually. It’s also available to pre-order now for $699 in an 8-light kit. The 8-light kit includes a charging case to let you top them all up at once and bouncers to help you shape and diffuse the light for different scenarios. The Godox C10R KNOWLED RGBWW Creative Bulb is available to pre-order now for $54.90 individually.
