Starting with the original iPhone (left) and working all the way through to the new iPhone 6 (right).
Now that the iPhone 6 has been released, we’ve been seeing a lot of comparison and review posts on the device’s camera. But, this comparison by photographer, Lisa Bettany, might be the most interesting one I’ve come across. Bettany took the new iPhone 6 and put it through multiple camera tests right alongside every other iPhone model that has been released. That’s 8 generations of iPhone cameras to work with!
The side by side image comparisons of each of the iPhones shows a telling story on how Apple has been working to continually further the technology behind the device’s tiny sensor. Of course, there’s still room for improvement (you could always try one of these), but it’s still interesting to be able to see how the iPhone has evolved over the past 7 years.
Here are a few of Bittany’s findings:
Backlit
Daylight (Details)
Macro
Low Light
For more test shots, including the full size image to go along with each of the slivers of test shots from above, be sure to check out Bettany’s full review, here.
