Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera Banner Leaked: It’s A Super16 RAW Drone Ready Camera

Usually companies try to keep their product launches secret. This may be a hard thing to do if you are putting a poster of your new product up on the wall of a major trade show, say like NAB 2015. This is just what Black Magic did, actually revealing the world with their upcoming camera: a Black magic Micro Cinema Camera, with 13 stops of DR, Super16, RAW, with features for use with drones as tweeted by Zak Forsman a few hours ago.

The features that the poster reveals are enough to get us intrigued: It utilizes a Super16 sensor (Nofilmscool speculates it may be the same sensor as in BMPCC?) and 13 stops of dynamic range.
The form factor seems to be Drone oriented as it has internal recording and other drone related features. One interesting speculation from nofilmschool concerns an actual drone release from Black Magic. I guess we will know today – same goes for price, resolution and availability.

I am still amazed, by BlackMagic products. They are constantly releasing new, top of the line cameras, with genuinely reasonable pricing.
If BlackMagic would make dedicated photo cameras – I would switch from my Nikon in a heartbeat.
Way cool!
Better battery life hopefully by turning off the screen as an option! Btw, love my BMPCC!
