AMP Awards 2024 winners celebrate outstanding architectural photography

If architectural photography is your jam, we have a real treat today. The Architecture MasterPrize (AMP) has announced the winners of its 2024 Photography Awards. This year, the competition recognized outstanding photographers who captured the beauty and innovation of architectural design.

Franco Casaccia was awarded Interior Architecture Photographer of the Year. His stunning images show In Orbit, a temporary exhibition by Tomás Saraceno at K21 in Düsseldorf. Casaccia’s photos perfectly capture the surreal and ethereal atmosphere of the installation, which appears as a floating landscape of clouds and planetary bodies.

Albrecht Voss received the Exterior Architecture Photographer of the Year award for his breathtaking images of Cabane du Glacier de Tortin, a newly built accommodation designed by architect Snorre Stinessen. Voss’s night photography showcases the building’s stunning beauty against the backdrop of the Swiss Alps, with the Northern Lights adding a touch of magic to the entire scene. “As we took shot after shot, we noticed a faint glow emerging in the sky,” Voss explained. “To our amazement, it was the first appearance of the Northern Lights over Switzerland in 25 years!” It’s a beautiful blend of nature and a man-made object.

Other notable winners include Tim Griffith, HGEsch Photography, Victor Romero, and Kris Provoost, to name just a few. All of them were recognized for their exceptional contributions to architectural photography.
